Actually the problem seems to be solved. I thank you so much for your help. Joseph said something about control panel and that triggered my brain into drive. I opened the start menu and typed in control panel and clicked enter. In the control panel I clicked programs and then I clicked uninstall programs. The list popped up with all the programs I have on my computer, I found amazon assistant and I right clicked on it by pressing the applications key and nothing happened so I clicked enter on the amazon assistant and a wizard popped up. The wizard gave me the choice to remove it so it did. I restarted the laptop and success this stupid thing is gone. Thanks to all of you guys helping me and triggering my brain. Regards Zoe
