Hi jean and all, even though I disabled the toolbar and search engines in
internet explorer, it still came back. Now that I disabled the same add on
using jean's method through the control panel, it seems to have perminantly
gone away. I should have waited a few days before replying just in case it
comes back again. But I was so happy that it's gone and even after a
shutdown it seems to finally be dead, I couldn't control my self from
telling you all.
Thank you so much for all the help.
I am curious why when I opened internet explorer and went to internet
options, manage add ons, and disabled it, it didn't go away, but when I went
to control panel, internet options, programs, manage add ons, it
disappeared. Why would all most the same thing work one way but not the
other? In a way I don't care I'm just glad it's gone, but then my curiosity
gets the better of me.
Regards
Zoe

Here's a suggestion, the one time I installed the Amazon Assistant,
thinking I might want it, I had no problems removing it and it never
came back, so I have no clue if this will help.

Before uninstalling it, go to the control panel, then to internet
options, then to the programs tab, then to the add ons manager. In the
manager, locate the Amazon Assistant in the list of add ons, and disable
it, then exit out of the manager and internet options. Then try
uninstalling it.

You might also want to try contacting Amazon, if this is a recurring
problem, they may have a solution.

Cheers!
