Personally I won't do this only because, for example, what happens if a soundcard driver updates, & it screws up the way the soundcard was working? Well, you're possibly stuck without Jaws , or your screenreader of choice. I'm by no means stating that this will happen, but I can't imagine the endless possibilities of what could happen, & with what apps/ drivers behind the scenes leaving you sitting there wondering what the hell just happened! Isn't this a security risk? A quick Google search didn't give me a definitive answer. One result, concerning Win10, seemed to confirm Jim's conjecture that changing this setting also allows for updating drives and even supplying missing ones.
