Very good step by step. However, it took me many tries before I figured out
that if I wanted to fill a series of cells with just the names of the months
in a year, I had to select auto fill, and not date.

R J,

Here is how the fill date feature works in Excel.

1. Put your date in the cell where you want the dates to start.
2. Starting with the cell where you just put the date you want to start
with. Select the cells in which you want the date to fill in.
3. Press alt e to go to the edit menu.
4. Then press the letter I to go to the fill menu and then down arrow until
you hear series and then press enter. This will put you in to a dialog box.
5. Then tab through the dialog box and make changes to your choosing.

I hope this helps, if you need any more help. Just let me know.
