I'm doing exactly the same, only on a shortcut on the start that points to the IE executable. There's no reason why that shouldn't work equally well, and it does for other shortcuts I've created, with other hotkey letter assignments. And, I have the same problem with alt-ctrl-I if I assign it to the IE shortcut in Programs, accessories, Communications. ----- Original Message ----- From: "one foxy lady" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, August 28, 2006 6:32 PM Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Shortcut Hotkey Problem
I just made a hot key using I for internet explorer alt-control-I.. Maybe it's your method of creating the hotkey? I did start menu, P for programs, I for internet explorer then I pressed the applications key and up arrowed to properties and entered on it that landed me in the target area to make a shortcut I tabbed to the box and put I then tab to apply and alt A and then back to the ok and spacebared it.. Neither will alt-ctrl-L, wherever I assign it. There are others, but I haven't made a full list of them. As I said, my initially thought was that these were already assigned, somehow. But I can't find any record of them, using HKSearch. I wonder if they could be preempted by some software I have installed? but, as hksearch won't tell me this, I don't know how to determine if this might be the case. Thanks.
