Dan,

couldn't it conflict with a hotkey used by some application I have installed 
but you don't? I think it unlikely, to be sure. But I can't think of any 
other reason why some letters I assign to alt-ctrl shortcuts just won't 
work, no matter what I do. ; even though I can't find them as assigned when 
I use HKSearch, hotkey Detective, etc.
