Very interesting, I have found this to be the case, only with Win XP, on 6
different machines.
Any version of Jaws on Win98SE, when the machine boots, the focus is placed
on the desktop, and Jaws reads the list view.
On my XP machines, the only time the focus is placed on the desktop when the
computer is booted, is if Jaws is run from the system tray.
Otherwise, there is no focus, when the computer boots, and an alt tab is in
order.
For the orginal poster, if it is not already the case, I would try putting
Jaws in the system tray.

Ricque

I could tell the lady how to automatically minimize to her desk top when
ever said program has focus, but I hesitate because if she would ever need
to have access to that program the script wouldn't allow it. I know because
I tried such a thing once as an experiment for kicks.

Have you done an insert-t command to find out what program is covering
things up?

I have the same problem, and when I do the insert-t command, it tells me
that it's a Norton Antivirus window.

I have also tried alt-f4 and I can't shut it off, but just wanted you to
know that you are not alone.

Victor
