Another solution would be to buy an external numpad. I got a nice
little i-Concepts mini mobile USB keypad from Beyond Sight for about $30
including shipping.

Keep in mind that you don't want to lock the num pad into the on mode
just to activate one JAWS command. On a previous computer that I had at
work,
Function+Scroll-Lock locked the num pad into the on mode. Once you were
done entering numbers, you would use the Function+Scroll-Lock key
combination to unlock the num pad.

This key combination works for me, too.

Thank you Lois, as this is a happy discovery.

Hi Cathie,

I think that each laptop is different. For mine, the keys are fn
key+scroll lock to turn on the numpad. Yours may be different though.

Take care,
Lois

Hi, Someone mentioned hitting a key combination that changed the active
jaws
keys to a num pab on a laptop. For example, the j k l keys become 4 5 6
and
the u i o become 7 8 9 and the m , . become 1 2 3. Where might the 0 be?
And
most importantwhat is the key combination to do this? Remember this is
for a
laptop.
Thanks,

Cathie
