An Outlook 2003 user chimes in 'bong it is 8:49 AM" In Outlook there is a 'checkbox' somewhere in the column settings area that says "best fit". If this is set for example on the subject column then the computer will change the width of the subject Colum based on the longest subject line. This is OK except that if your date field is too the right of the subject column then it could be pushed off screen.
