Try the apply to all folders option in the view tab of the folder options and
it should work.

Hmm, you have me stumped. I just tried it with mine. After changing the
arrangement from alphabetical by name to reverse order by name, and then
exiting, when I came back in, the view was the same.

I am using Windows XP professional, and JAWS 7.0.

Hopefully someone else on this list can help.

ok I tried what you have said it worked the problem is that I have to keep
on doing it every time I want to get the view Right. What can I do to make
it stay in a up and down order instead of it going across? so that I don't
have to keep going to the menu bar every time. many thanks.

I'm going to assume that you are working in the My Documents view.

Instructions for Changing the arrangement of files and folders in the "My
Documents" view

Once you have the "My Documents" file/folder list opened:
. Go to the View menu on the Menu Bar.
. Move down to "List". If this is not check marked, press enter.
This will check the "List" item and close the menu.
. If you want to see the details for each item, open up the View menu
again and move down to details. If this is checked, you should already be
able to see the details of your listed files. If it is not checked, press
enter to check it and close the menu.
. There are some standard sorting arrangements available. Go back to
the View menu and move down to the "Arrange By" item and press enter. This
will open a submenu.
. Arrow through this submenu to find the arrangement type you want.
Just press enter on this item to check it.
. If the listing of files are arranged in ascending order and you want
them in descending order, or vice-versa, go back up to the View menu, move
down to "Arrange by" and again press enter on the arrangement type that
you
had previously selected. This will arrange your file/folder list in the
reverse order.

What program are you working in? What version of JAWS are you using? And
it is also helpful to let us know what operating system you are using.
When
you talk about ascending order, what are you referring to, date, or
something else? I'm sure once you provide more info, we will be able to
help you.

Hi all. I know that when you hit alt v and then d you can set things to be
viewd in descending order. WhatI want to know is how do you set it so that
you don't always have to hit that key stroke every time? Many thanks for
all
your help. from Mich Verrier from New Liskeard Ontario Canada.
