if your having some problems with open book not reading so well it just might be a matter of some of your scanning settings..I've used open book since version 5/ruby and really don't have any trouble at least reading whatever I've scanned on my scanner.. The saving process if you want to save into a Word doc. and save it to like say your documents which is where I save too is way different steps than what the other guy listed..
