Maybe someone in support can clarify this. I was told Jbase 5.0 is a 64-bit product and requires 64-bit Win 7 (or server). IF that is the case, then that is why it is not running. I know I have not been able to run 3.x on any 64-bit Win 7 and the problem always comes down to the telnet.

Both my WINDOWS 7 and JBase are 32-bit. JBase did not give any error while being installed. Its just when I tried to install telnetd, it gives error.

@Ali Javed

I tried the command you mentioned but it did not worked, it gives following error

*C:\>jservcontrol -v -s auto -p C:\jbase5\5.0\bin\telnetd.exe Telnet install*
*Failed to open Service Control Manager, error 5*

        I thought jbase 5 was 64 bit? I do not think that will work on

        Did you think to look up what Error 5 is with the ERRMSG command?

        You don’t have permissions to install the service. However,
        do you know that Windows 7 is supported by jBASE? It seems to
        take a long time for a new version of windows to be
        supported. Anyway, try doing this as Administrator and/or
        ensuring that you have the required permissions.
