Did I miss something ???
I actually use the Zebra printers, and confirm that it is a "GDI" style
printer in that it skips most of the Windows print drivers and prints
direct to the port.
wlp or some utility that prints from dos will do the trick as the normal
jBASE spooler will just send blank documents to the printer.
Out of interest, we don't use the jBASE spooler anymore, as our front
end application is now 100% windows so all prints are generated at the
client end - including the label prints to the Zebra printer. For the
Zebra printer, even in Windows we skip the windows spooler and send the
file directly to the device which works - although we only do this for
compatibility with the Samsung label printers which we also support
(which are far inferior to the Zebra's).
Not really a high value post - just confirming previous posts. :)

of printer does not know how to print without being driven by Windows. IOW,
only Windows applications (like Word and notepad) know how to print to it.

Added note, the TLP2824 (non-plus) I had prior works fine either way.
The printer is a parallel printer with USB to parallel connector to the
system. The file is attached if anyone is interested.
