I can suggest 3 courses of action: 1) Change the jRFS port number (be sure to do this on both the client systems and the jRFS server) . If there is a port number conflict with some other application then this should resolve the issue.
2) Set up the Recovery options on the service. I personally have not ever used this but it is worth a try if (1) provides no joy. 3) Turn on the jRFS trace logs. This may, just may, provide the cause of the failure. Be aware that this will have drastic performance implications as the logs grow, so it is best to monitor them and clear them out periodically.
