Yes it's possible and yes get a 'pro' version (avoid anything from Microsoft
with home anywhere in the name), and it's simplest if you get a 32 bit
version.

 

3.4.10 is the last version, but we have a few laggards so you might try
whatever version you have in hand.

 

Depending on which version you are currently running going to 3.4.10 may
require recompilation.

 

Install the .NET Framework SDK V1.1 (to get the C compiler) first.
