Thanks guys for all your input. The only reason I would even consider leaving xp is that it will probably be impossible to get the updates if the system ever crashed. I have now found a program downloads all the updates to cd and will install them easily. So as long as I am not dependent on MS for those updates, I’ll be staying with xp. I have an xp install disk with sp2, sp3 on separate cd and now all the updates on another cd so I can install any time I choose to.

Depending on which version you are currently running going to 3.4.10 may require recompilation. Install the .NET Framework SDK V1.1 (to get the C compiler) first. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16217 From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard Kann Sent: Monday, July 01, 2013 9:21 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: jb vers 3.x and windows 7 Win 7 pro 32 bit works fine. Now before you tell me that I should upgrade my jbase to version 5, I must say at this point in my life, I really don’t want to go through the learning curve and I only have one “client” left with a small application running. Sooooo.... Is it possible to put my jb 3.x on Win7, and if so, what version do I need? I have “Home Premium” right now, but think there is a “Pro” version that I should get. Is this true? I would assume there are system variables that must be set too, if I want to have the full capabilities of compiling and cataloging basic programs.
