I just made a few experiments and wanted to report here on the
results. Also some issues came up for which I am looking for a
solution.

Background: I have an "old" PC and a MacBook. I wanted to set up
Jbooktrader on this and also compare the runtime of different
configurations.

I installed Eclipse(Helios) on MacOS and in my BootCamp partition
(MacOS64 Cacoa vs. Win64 versions respectively on respective Java). On
this I installed subclipse and then got the most recent version of
JBookTrader. After some experiments I got it to run under under both
Windows7 and MacOS.

I also tried to set it up similarly on the old PC. Due to problems
with subclipse, I did a clean install of Eclipse and set up an new
project with the synchronized JBookTrader (a second JBookTrader
project with which I used to work exists in the repository). So, the
installation should be completely comparable.

Experiments where done with: Strategy: SecondNature, Divide and
Conquer, Profit Factor Optimization. The dataset was downloaded fresh
from the website in all installations and I checked that Advanced
optimization set up is the same.
Now comes the weird part: on MacOS and Mac-Windows it starts and says,
it will have to test 640 strategies (of course this changes slightly
over time). Not so on my PC. It starts with 2401 strategies???
I cross-checked everything, I could find, but I did not find the
reason for this. Is there a way how the configuration data from the
other project influences the strategy selection (in a way not visible
in the GUI)??

This is my issue No. 1 (and the major one).

Issue 2: the MacOS installation guide is completely outdated. I would
propose to remove it, as the misguiding information actually costs a
lot of extra effort (it simply does not work as described). - On the
other hand, if you work on it in a straightforward way, it is easy to
set everything up.

Issue 3: when doing the optimizations, close to the end the progress
bar went beyond 100% - this is kind of weird, but not a major problem.

Cheers
   Klaus

PS: if you are interested in the results (everything with -server
switch)
MacOS 291 sec
Windows (bootcamp) 277 sec
Windows (parallels) 296 sec
 your mileage may vary.

as a result always the best strategy has 5878 profit

My old PC probably a lot slower, but unsure how much, due to issue 1..
