WebLogic was the only container (besides jBoss) to serialize access to entity beans in the container. They decided to remove this for a couple reasons: 1. Throughput sufferred. 2. The developer began to rely on this serialization in their coding practices. I would hope that entity serialization is a "passing fancy" for jBoss.
