I'm sure it's v. useful and I wasn't intending to make any criticisms one way or the other. It's just that there have been tons of discussions where I haven't had a clue what was going on. I'm not even sure that having a single file is necessarily less confusing than multiple files, one for each service. I like the idea of being able to just drop an encapsulated service description into a running server and having it deployed in the same way as an application. The fact that other servers use a single configuration file isn't really an argument in itself. This system also makes configuration less of an issue - you can just supply someope with the appropriate sar files along with your app and tell them to drop them into the deploy directory.
