We were able to run the tests which uses Jacorb on a 64-bit JVM. We compiled the JBoss build using a 32-bit JVM to avoid the Jacorb compilation problem and used a 64-bit JVM to run the testsuite. We were not getting the VerifyError at runtime. This happens only during IDL compilation.
The compilation error occurs with SUN jdk1.4 and jrockit-1.4 64-bit JVM's. It does not occur with jrockit-1.5 64 bit JVM. It looks like a JVM bug. Even though I know JacORB's implementation of the ORB run-time library fairly well, I have never looked at the IDL compiler.
