Just a quick note to correct a slight inaccuracy.  This addendum to 
the GPL license would have to be approved by the original 
copyright holders of affected code as well.  Right now, for the 
relevant persistence code, I think that would be Rickard (and Marc 
as his employer?)  We may want to make some arrangement for 
the general case before the number of copyright holders grows too 
large.

I don't mean to go changing other people's licenses without their 
permission. :-)
