hi all,
: Just a quick query ... what IDE's if any do people here use for
development of
: jBoss?
this is not exactly an IDE, but you might want to try FAR commander
[www.rarsoft.com] which looks a little norton like, and offers a much more
advanced command line for win - which is neccessary for java development,
has loads of additional functionality through additional free plugins [you
have to download them separately] - ie. syntax colorer for java, xml, jsp;
ftp client, mail client, etc.... and it is *really* fast, and memory
footprint is terribly small - ~4mb with everything :)) give it a chance, try
it - you will not be dissappointed.

btw, as the plugin architecture is open, just yesterday I came to idea to
write a plugin that would use the ANT's build.xml as a project file, and
allow to simply execute desired "target" - on which I am working at the
moment.
the next step would be to implement advanced source analysis, and introduce
features like autocompletion and syntax checking.
I opened a project for this on sourceforge.org for this:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/farjide/
if you have additional ideas on what you expect from a java ide, feel free
to contact me.

: I just tried Forte on my Linux RH7.0 box (only 128 meg RAM), and the
thing
: seemed mighy slow.
true, true :)
sincerely,
