I hope I understand the problem you are having with embedded tomcat.
After installing jBoss and tomcat,
To fix the problem with NoInitialContextException,
copy conf/default/jndi.properties to bin directory.

Perhaps someone with more time can check on why jndi.properties is
not being found in the conf dir.
