Rick, I'd completely forgot:

1. change java.naming.provider.url from localhost 
   to real DNS name like 
some.host.com or another.host.com:1099

2. have this setting in both jndi.properties files
   (i mean in jboss/conf/default and on the clients)

3. let me know if it works.
