It would appear that the default Java environment is still the one that comes 
with RedHat.  Don't use that one with JBoss, it won't work.  I know that 
various other things installed with RedHat require it so removing it can be a 
pain (I just left mine there and don't use it directly).

Have you installed a JDK from Sun?  If not, you should.  The jvm directory when 
you installed the j2eesdk is also a JDK, but installing the actual JDK from Sun 
would be best.

As for setting environment variables, edit the .bashrc file in you home 
directory and put the export statements there.
