You haven't posted the log all the way through to conclusion. You should see RETURN: addMessage when the add message has finished.
In the second log, you have the problem that memory is tight so JBossMQ is pushing messages onto disk. 2004-04-01 12:17:17,125 TRACE [org.jboss.mq.server.MessageCache] Memory usage serverity=1.0 What are your memory and message cache settings?
