Tell me about growing up in a commonwealth nation, "cast in stone" education using Queen's english AND then realizing in the IT professional life that American English speakers can suddenly laugh at the terms you use, unknowingly in your conversation. Eg: I am not cribbing about it, Where is the loo, the weather is balmy (no stress on the 'el'), should I say Flat or Apartment, write programme/program, write colour/color.
The list of conflicts is long and there is no macro-programmers' dictionary that can solve these amibiguous words/connotations. Sorry this was a personal post, which does not add anything to the thread. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_of_Nations View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3910498#3910498 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3910498 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
