Tell me about growing up in a commonwealth nation, "cast in stone" education 
using Queen's english AND then realizing in the IT professional life that 
American English speakers can suddenly laugh at the terms you use, unknowingly 
in your conversation. Eg: I am not cribbing about it, Where is the loo, the 
weather is balmy (no stress on the 'el'), should I say Flat or Apartment, write 
programme/program, write colour/color.

The list of conflicts is long and there is no macro-programmers' dictionary 
that can solve these amibiguous words/connotations.

Sorry this was a personal post, which does not add anything to the thread.
