If you go on any irc channel with java in it you tend to get people just joining and expecting everyone else to sort their problems out. it starts to wear thin after a while.
So if you are a newbie then read up a bit. I would have more appreciation for someone's question if they said..... "Hey i've checked the api docs and i'm still confused..... http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/net/InetAddress.html " then we could get a level and start to HELP.... not just do a quick fix for the same person to come back two hours later and ask the same question.
