Well, boo-hoo , 3 months in an IRC channel "helping out" does not excuse plain old 
rudeness. 
Don't trash those who are willing to help. Smart alec remarks about ther blind leading 
the blind
helps no one and is unprofessional.
If you are burnt out - ignore the weak and clueless if it bothers you. Suggest that 
those who
obviously haven't done thier homework do so.  If the level of discourse bothers you, 
thier are
many more *advanced* java listservs where you won't get tyro questions. I can point 
you to some of
them if you don't want to do your homework.

And BTW - I've been "helping out" in Usenet/ARPAnet groups and various listserv's 
since the early
80's.
