Because s4 is an object and it does not have a default value. You need to
set it to null, as it is only initialized inside the try/catch.
i.e.
String s4 = null;
try
{
s4 = "abc";
}
catch (Exception e)
{
;
}

When i try to compile this, an error "variable s4 might not have been
initialized" occurs.
Would someone like to explain me why?
