After a brief discussion with Kohsuke I would like to propose a change in
a process of LTS release publishing. Currently, we try to deliver LTS
release once a month preceded by a one week RC testing period. The effort
is coordinated on dev list and the effective release date is influenced by
personal time schedule of different people.
Therefore, I propose publishing the release date of LTS and rc upfront (on
dev list, governance meeting or whatever Kohsuke finds appropriate). So
that everyone involved in backporting and early adopters can plan their
actions accordingly. I expect this will help us to cope with the one-month
release schedule and generally utilize our time more efficiently.
This will be discussed at next Government Meeting at 2014-01-22.
