After upgrading Jenkins I noticed that the toplevel menu item 'New Job' has been renamed to 'New Item'. All other links, messages, etc. still call the created item „job“. Are there plans to rename all of these messages? What is the rationale behind this? I think the old name „Create Job“ was very clear to new users, but the new name „Create Item“ is very unclear. Maybe this is due to the fact that I’m not a native speaker but I think the term item is too generic for me. Even though we are technically not creating jobs anymore I think it would make things more user friendly if we stick to „job“.
What do you think? Ulli PS: the german translation makes it even worse: since there is no meaningful translation of „Item“ the english word is mixed with the german action name
