It uses % rather than the absolute byte value, and is therefore more useful when you have vastly different nodes.
E.g. the 50GB workspaces on the 2TB slave will require a different take-this-offline threshold than the 20MB workspaces on the 20GB VM. OTOH is doesn't tell you exactly how much is free.
