Hi all, Sorry for another boring non-developer topic, I would like to provide an update on the GSoC 2019 budget. You can find the previous status update for 01.01.2019 here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/jenkinsci-dev/p_hRMKfQuJw/hDsKzBFMDgAJ .
- Estimated GSoC balance on 01.01.2019: *2837.34 USD* - GSoC 2019 payments expectation: *6200 USD* (according to this doc <https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/help/org-payments>) - 3500 - payments per student - 2200 - mentor summit stipend - 500 - additional travel grant Although there were some requests for swag, we have not really spent any money yet. But we definitely want to do so: - Swag request for 2018/2019: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/jenkinsci-dev/4OUrH562INQ - Travel grant for Natasha Stopa to participate in DevOps World - Jenkins World US - Travel grant for other successful students, if timeframe and budges allow doing so - GSoC Mentor summit There would be a number of requests to get all the topics covered, and it would require a lot of overhead in the developer mailing list. Last year we have suggested JEP-8 <https://github.com/jenkinsci/jep/tree/master/jep/8> which basically lets GSoC org admins to manage and approve the GSoC budget. The JEP was put on ice due to the CDF discussions, but at the moment CDF does not cause changes in how GSoC operates, we will be using SPI as it was discussed with the Jenkins board. My suggestion is to make a blanket JEP-8 approval for GSoC 2019 so that we can operate on this front easily. I suggest the following: - In 2019 GSoC org admins manage the GSoC budget according to JEP-8 <https://github.com/jenkinsci/jep/tree/master/jep/8> - GSoC org admins are expected to have not less than 1000 USD of the leftover budget for 2020. It will be used for funding of GSoC activities if needed WDYT? Thanks in advance, Oleg -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Jenkins Developers" group.
