I'm on windows as my previous comment elaborated on. I thought it worthwhile to mention that I no longer have this issue.
The disappearance, for me, might be related to increasing my jvm memory and jvm permgen memory. I had noticed in my jenkins.err.log files, I was getting perm gen space and another out of memory error. It is possible that increasing those values has alleviated the symptoms for me.
