The exact functionality I need is git clone -b $BRANCH --recursive /path/to/repo.git
Issues being Faced:
1. GIT Plugin does not have --recursive functionality. So, after GIT Plugin clones, I use
"git submodule update --init --recursive", which also fails to get the content from the repo. REASON: I think is the issue #2 below
2. GIT Plugin does not write "branch" section in the .git/config file
