Dear Friend, The gifts that God has instilled in each of us are unique and separate from what anyone else possesses. We each have abilities that when used to their fullest capacity causes great changes for ourselves as well as for this world. Many times we become discouraged because of the trials that come our way and forget of the great power that God has placed within us. We are to recognize our spiritual blessings and remember that greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. The Bible declares in Ephesians 1:3, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. We are called to accomplish great things and God has given us His blessings to reach them, so you be encouraged and know that you are blessed and favored of God. (1 John 4:4) (Romans 12:2-8) (John 16:33) I hope you are encouraged by today's message to recognize your gifts and know that you are special and irreplaceable. STRENGTH VS. WEAKNESS The following is the story of one 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident. The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training, the master had taught him only one move. Sensei, the boy finally said, Shouldn't I be learning more moves? This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know, the sensei replied. Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training. Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals. This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened. No, the sensei insisted, Let him continue. Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake; He dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion. On the way home, the boy and the sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind. Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move? You won for two reasons, the sensei answered. First, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm. The boy's biggest weakness had become his biggest strength. Author Unknown Never allow the enemy's intended discouragement to make you question your abilities. Be Strong in the Lord and in the power of His Might. Do not allow yourself to question If you are able to overcome the obstacles that come before you, but rather be reassured and know that the qualities that God has placed within you are more than sufficient to overcome and be triumphant over every trial that comes your way. (Ephesians 6:10-14) Read and meditate on these scriptures: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Romans 8:35,37 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. Isaiah 40:29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
