Dear Friend, With the busyness of life, people today more than ever are quick to place responsibilities on others rather than completing those tasks themselves. We must remember that God gives us special talents and abilities that are meant to be used to fulfill His work on the earth. The Bible declares in Romans 12:4-6, For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us... Be encouraged to participate in doing God's work and know that you are well able to do all that He asks of you. I hope you are both inspired and challenged by this message to not be passive when it comes to taking hold of responsibilities, but rather do what you can with your whole heart leaving the results up to the Lord. A STORY ABOUT FOUR PEOPLE This is a story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was asked to do it. Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually Nobody asked Anybody. Author Unknown No matter what task comes before us whether feeding the homeless, driving the church bus or simply paying attention to someone who is in need, let us do it wholeheartedly with the love of Christ shining through our countenance. Doing what God commands will both please the Lord and bring a peace to our hearts for knowing we are doing what's right in His eyes. We cannot go through life hoping that a certain job will be completed without knowing who will take that responsibility on themselves. Let us as God's people not wait any longer for someone else to do it and let us do the job that we know in our hearts needs to be done whatever it may be. The testimony that will be left behind will greatly outweigh and outlast the job that was done. (Luke 6:35-38) (Psalm 37:1-5) (Ephesians 6:5-8) Read and meditate on these scriptures: Philippians 2:3-7 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. Jeremiah 1:4-8 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. John 13:12-15 So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His garments, and was set down again, He said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another?Ts feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Matthew 25:37-40 Jesus declares ?oThen shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee? Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me. The Lord creates each person for a special plan and purpose that is to be accomplished throughout their life. We must remember that God equips us with the special gifts and talents that are needed to accomplish that which we know in our hearts is for us. The Bible declares in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. The Lord wishes for us to triumph and persevere, but it is in our hands to believe God and reach for those goals and aspirations that are ahead of us. (Mark 9:23) (Romans 3:3-4) (Jeremiah 33:2-3) I hope you are encouraged by this simple message to believe in yourself and know that with God by your side all things are possible. THINK, BELIEVE, DREAM AND DARE An eight-year-old boy approached an old man in front of a wishing well, looked up into his eyes, and asked: I understand you're a very wise man. I'd like to know the secret of life. The old man looked down at the youngster and replied: I've thought a lot in my lifetime, and the secret can be summed up in four words. The first is think. Think about the values you wish to live your life by. The second is believe. Believe in yourself based on the thinking you've done about the values you're going to live your life by. The third is dream. Dream about the things that can be, based on your belief in yourself and the values you're going to live by. The last is dare. Dare to make your dreams become reality, based on your belief in yourself and your values. And with that, Walter E. Disney said to the little boy, Think, Believe, Dream, and Dare. Author unknown I encourage you to never allow pessimistic comments to keep you from reaching the goals that are in your heart. If you have a goal that has not yet been reached, the most important thing that you can do is to keep your distance from those who tell you that your goals are unattainable. Allowing pessimism or pessimistic comments to enter into our hearts is a sure way of giving up on what we otherwise had wished would come to pass. We must see ourselves as God sees us and that is victorious in every way. We cannot have a mind of defeat and a confession of victory. The Bible declares in Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Let us agree with God's Word and believe that we will reach every area of victory that He has for us. (Habakkuk 2:2-3) (Ephesians 4:29-32) (Numbers 14:26-29) Read and meditate on these scriptures: Mark 11:23-24 Jesus declares For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Deuteronomy 4:30-31 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto His voice; (For the LORD Thy God is a merciful God;) He will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He sware unto them. Ephesians 4:29-32 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.
