Dear Friend, It should comfort our hearts to know that God is with us at all times to strengthen us, protect us, and lift us up when we are feeling low. We must remember that God is powerful and mighty and will move mountains to keep us safe and protected. Never believe the lie that God does not care about you because the truth is He loves you with an everlasting love and has given His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways protected. Know that you are greatly loved by God and even in the times when He may seem distant, the Lord is closer to you than your next breath. Praise God for such love. (Isaiah 43:2-3) (Jeremiah 31:3) (Psalm 91:9-12) (Psalm 34:17-19) I hope today's message both comforts and encourages your heart to know that no matter what may come before you, God is able to protect you and set your feet on solid ground where no harm can come near unto you. MARGARETE'S ANGEL Hush! My dear, lie still and slumber, Holy angels guard thy bed. Heavenly blessings without number gently falling on thy head. Isaac Watts 1674 - 1748 Two things are in short supply ~ well, it could be a whole lot more, when you are a college student ~ sleep, and money to go home on. Margarete was away at college, a hard working, diligent, college student, a sophomore. She stayed in the dormitory where sleep was a short commodity, too. Girls being girls and studies being studies, the nights are pretty short. The Christmas holidays were soon approaching which meant the trip home was in sight. But as always, college professors haven't much heart as they schedule tests on the last two or three days proceeding vacation. So again sleep was hard to come by. Mom and Dad had sent money for the bus ride home. As soon as class was over on that Friday Margarete made her way to the depot, loaded with luggage and a few presents she had purchased. She bought her ticket and her choice seat was available, the last seat in the back, next to the back door where she could stretch out and sleep without interruption until her destination of Mankato, Minnesota! What luxury...just to stretch out. The only sounds were those of people murmuring to each other and the tires on the highway, comforting, soothing sounds to lull a tired college sophomore to sleep. As she slept, the bus motion and her tossing pushed her shoulders against the back door, then more of her body weight pressed against the door. Suddenly without warning, the back door sprang open with Margarete pushed against it. She tipped out the door, head and shoulders first, awakening instantly with a start to feel herself falling into the blackness of the night towards the hard concrete. Her first thought was, I'm about to die! She grabbed for the door frame to catch herself but missed! She prayed a three word prayer, "Jesus help me!" And to this day, she says she can almost still feel it...there was a pair of huge hands that caught her and pushed her back into the bus! The bus driver, when the warning light came on, brought the bus to a quick stop and came running down the aisle to check on the problem. He came to Margarete and asked, "Are you all right? I can't understand how it happened. Did you lose anything?" Still in shock, she answered, "No sir, no problems." "How did you manage to hold on and not fall out?" "I believe I had some heavenly help." By R. Strand The most beautiful thing we can experience is the miraculous. Albert Einstein Read and meditate on these scriptures: Isaiah 43:2-3 "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour..." Psalm 91:9-12 "Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." Psalm 34:17-19 "The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all." Psalm 3:4-8 "I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; Thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: Thy blessing is upon Thy people. Selah." Jeremiah 33:2-3 "Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is His name; Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Dear Friend, We should always be conscious to the fact that our life is meant to be used in great and powerful ways by God Almighty. We are the vessel in which God can work through to touch others and minister His Word of encouragement that all will be well. To be used of God, we must be available to the Holy Spirit and be sensitive to the still small voice of His leading. The Lord can do extraordinary things through each of our lives if we only surrender our will and allow the Lord to work through us. Be encouraged to be the vessel in which the Lord can work through to minister His grace and encouragement towards all those in need. (Ephesians 4:29-32) (Isaiah 30:21) I hope this message ministers to your heart to lead your life purely before the Lord so that He can work through you to enrich and make better the lives of those who are in need around you. KINKS It was a hot sunny day, so hot you could actually see heat waves rising in ripples off the pavement in Cindy's driveway. 'Looks like this drought is here to stay,' Cindy thought as she wiped perspiration from her forehead. She twisted a sprinkler onto the end of the water hose and placed it in the center of the lawn. She walked back to the faucet and gave it a short twist. The sprinkler only sputtered before going dry. "Stupid water department!" Cindy muttered under her breath as she went inside to call. "If they have to ration water, they could at least make sure there's enough pressure to water the lawn when it's our turn." Cindy grabbed the phone and dialed the number to city hall. "City clerk." answered the woman on the other end of the line. "Yes, this is Cindy Owens. I live in the Rolling Hills Addition and am experiencing problems with my water pressure. Could you tell me if anyone else has reported problems in this area?" "No." The clerk responded, "No one has reported any problems. Perhaps you' are having problems with your plumbing. Have you tried more than one faucet?" "No ma'am, I haven't." Cindy replied. "I'll check the other faucets and call you back if there's still a problem." Cindy went to her kitchen sink and turned on the water. 'Doesn't seem to be a problem here' she thought as she made her way back to the yard. With little examination, Cindy found her problem -- a kink in the hose. Feeling silly, she unkinked the hose and proceeded to water the lawn. Once the kink was removed, the water flowed freely, bringing much needed relief to the sun scorched soil beneath the grass. As Christians, we also get kinks in our lives, kinks of apathy and unforgiveness, kinks of self-righteousness and sometimes even religion. These kinks can block the power of the Holy Spirit from flowing through us, so that we might in turn minister to others. Praise God, for He is able to remove these kinks from our lives -- but we must allow Him to do so. Author Unknown Read and meditate on these scriptures: Luke 6:35-36 Jesus declares, ".love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." Ephesians 4:29-32 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Isaiah 64:8-9 "But now, O LORD, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our potter; and we all are the work of Thy hand. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech Thee, we are all Thy people." Hebrews 12:1-3 "...Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the Joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds." All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
