Dear Friend,

As we go through life we should always keep in mind that tomorrow is
promised to no man. We must live each day to the full and realize that God
has given us a short time on this earth to be an example of His love and
forgiveness and lead all men to the saving truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
With all that you are able, make a special point to live peaceably among
all men letting them see the love that you offer and letting them feel the
love of God that comes from your heart. Do all you can to be a positive
representative of Christ and when the opportunity presents itself for you
to be helping, do so with great expectancy that God will bring great
results because of your intervention. (James 4:13-14) (1 Corinthians 3:8-10)

We should also remember that we will reap exactly what we sow. We should
never go through life holding grudges or be unforgiving towards those who
have done something wrong against us, but rather we must remember that we
as representatives of Christ and followers of His command must lead our
life by example. We must forgive all those who have done something wrong
against us and let them know that just as God has forgiven us of our great
sins, we also extend the same forgiveness to those who have done wrong
against us. (Galatians 6:7) (Mark 11:25-26) (Matthew 18:21-35) (Romans 12:20-21)

Never forget the simple truth that we will all stand before God on our
Judgment Day and give an account of our life on the earth. Our ultimate
goal is to love God with all of our heart and love our neighbor as
ourselves. Always try to remember the end result of life and if you need
to, reevaluate how you are treating others because that is ultimately what
we will be remembered for. (Revelation 20:12) (Matthew 22:37-40) (James 1:27)

I hope this simple message encourages your heart to live each day to the
best of your ability encouraging yourself and others that life may
sometimes be difficult, but God's grace is promised to be sufficient for all
men.

MOIST EYES

I find that my eyes are watering up more often lately. They were wet when I
got my daughter ready for her prom recently. I felt my vision get a little
blurry too just the other day when I watched an old home movie with my mom
in it. These days I even find them getting moist from certain songs I hear,
stories I read, and thoughts I have. Some think I am getting sentimental in
my middle years. I think I am just getting wiser and more in touch with God’s
love.

Not all of my tears are loving and joyful ones, either. I have had tears of
sadness while holding my own crying son because there wasn’t anything I
could do to ease the frustration his Autism causes. I have had tears of
grief when first my Mom and then my Grandma died. I have even had tears of
empathy in seeing the suffering that so many people in this world are going
through every day.

Even with the moist eyes and mixed feelings, however, I wouldn’t change who
I am today. I have more love in my heart and joy in my soul than ever
before. I have found too that it is our own caring souls that God uses to
help heal the world. It may open us up to more pain and suffering, but God
always gives us the strength, love, and goodness to handle it. It may give us a
few more tears, but God makes sure that most of them are ones of joy,
compassion, and kindness.

It is far better to have wet eyes and a warm, loving heart than dry eyes
and be dead on the inside. Don’t be scared to let your eyes go moist then.
Those tears will clear your vision to see God’s spirit in everyone you
meet. Those tears will open your heart to all the love that God wants to
bless you with. Those tears will strengthen your soul so that you can bring
joy, compassion, and healing to all those around you. God gave you tears to
ease your pain and tears to express your joy. Use them both to make this world
a better place.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Ephesians 4:29-32 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth,
but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace
unto the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are
sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and
anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all
malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

Deuteronomy 10:18-21 “He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and
widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. Love ye
therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. Thou
shalt fear the LORD Thy God; Him shalt thou serve, and to Him shalt thou
cleave, and swear by His name. He is thy praise, and He is thy God, that
hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.”

Romans 15:1-4 “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the
weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour
for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as
it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on Me. For
whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.

Dear Friend,

We should always be thankful for the many blessings that God has given us
and let our countenance reflect the joy, peace and love that is in our
hearts. We should never allow this world to make us think negatively or
tempt us to murmur and complain over the issues of life. If we had a scale
to measure the good as well as the bad, we would soon find that the good
greatly outweighs the bad and would not even come close in comparison. We
must focus on our blessings and be quick to share the love that we have
received from the Lord towards others that they may see the joy of the Lord
through our physical being. As ambassadors for Christ, we are called to
lead all men to the simple truth that Jesus Christ loves them and died to
save them from their sins. Be encouraged to share the joy and peace that
God has given you with all those who need to be lifted up around you.

I hope this message encourages and inspires your heart to be a living witness
for the Lord Jesus Christ. Do all you can to share a word of encouragement, a
sign of affirmation or simply a smile to let that one know that it's not as bad
as it seems.

THE SMILING GAME

It's been said that a smile is the lighting system of the face, the cooling
system of the head and the heating system of the heart. But a smile is also
a powerful weapon against toxic attitudes of all kinds.

Lisa Gurnsey, of Portland, Oregon, wrote to me about a man whose smile
quite literally changed her life: “I was having a horrible day -- hating my
job, tired of the weather, tired of trying to keep up on bills, and just
completely stressed out. I stopped at the post office in the morning and,
as I was entering, an older business man commented to me that it was going
to be a good day and life shouldn't be as bad as I make it look. I glared
at him and simply said, 'I wish it was Friday.'”

“I felt better about my day when I left the post office...that man's smile
and comment, although irritating at first, made me think.”

“The second time I ran into the man I went out of my way to say 'Happy Friday'
to him and to smile. I saw him a few more times and always he was cheery and
'made my day.'”

“I looked for him around Christmastime to give him a card and explain how his
kind words and smile that very first day made me regroup my thinking and
realize I didn't have it so bad. But I have not seen him at the post office
since then. I look every morning...I go at different times to see if I can
catch him. Maybe he retired, maybe he is ill. I think to myself, 'I wish I had
thanked him for being a kind person.' I can honestly say this man changed my
life. I will work to spread that same feeling to those I see in need of a
smile.”

Speaker Josh Hinds makes this suggestion: “Play the smiling game in your daily
life. See how many people you can get to smile back at you. Keep score and
tally the results at the end of each day.”

That sounds like a game we can all play. The rules are simple. There are lots
of winners. And who knows...you may even 'make' someone's day -- even if that
someone is you!

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath
anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind
up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening
of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of
the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for
ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting
of the LORD, that He might be glorified.”

Matthew 25:37-40 Jesus declares “Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying,
Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee
drink? When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed
Thee? Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee? And the King
shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done
it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me.”

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth
us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in
any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth
by Christ.”

1 John 4:10-12 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved
us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God
so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at
any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is
perfected in us.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
