Dear Friend,

It is important for us to remember that we will all face adversity at one
time or another in our lives. We shouldn't find it odd that tribulations
are in our path, but rather we should expect difficulties because the
Bible says man is of few days and many troubles. Even though problems are
promised to come, we should never let that hinder our peace and joy in the
Lord. We are to come before the Lord with praise and thanksgiving no
matter the trials in our path. The Lord has promised that as long as we
depend on Him, All Will Be Well. (Job 14:1) (Psalm 91:9-11) (Psalm 21:1-6)

He is our Heavenly Father who knows of our needs even before we ask for
His intervention. The Lord is all knowing and all powerful and the
biggest of our problems is the easiest for God to bring a resolution to.
Someone once said, 'Never tell God how big your problems are, but rather
tell your problems how big your God is.' Glory in the Lord and never in
the problem that is before you. Magnify the Lord above all things letting
God know that your trust is in Him and you will soon find Peace and Joy
restored to your soul. (Matthew 6:8) (1 Corinthians 1:25-31)

I hope this message ministers to your heart to think highly of the Lord no
matter the problems, trials, heartaches or tribulations that are in your
path. Let God know that your confidence is in Him and not on the negative
situation that is presently before you. The Lord is able to help you if
you allow Him into your life and simply ask.

MASTER OF SOLUTIONS

“There are no problems, only solutions.” - Unknown

Without a doubt, this has been the most difficult few years of my life. A
small crisis within our home has pierced our otherwise comfortable
existence, and yet, even in the turmoil, light has overcome darkness.

During the onset of our struggle I was angry, frustrated and felt
overwhelmed. “Why us, God? Why us?” I would ask, and although my answer
did not come as immediately as I would have preferred, the Lord did reply
later by showing me truth. This truth was the knowledge that there is no
such thing as earthly perfection, and each and every human being will face
adversity at some time in their life. However, God is greater than any problem.

Whether it is sickness, disease, relationship struggles or some other
hardship, our life journey will never be perfect because perfection is
only found in the Divine. Along with the beauty of laughs and smiles will
be the sting of painful tears, disappointments and shattered dreams.
Relationships may fail and jobs may fall through, yet will we allow these
bumps along the path to alter our ability to possess peace and joy?

The answer, my dear friends, is no!

How we perceive crisis when it occurs can either make or break our peace
of mind as well as affect the outcome of the situation. As the above quote
conveys, nothing is really a problem because there will always be solutions.

The greatest lesson I have learned this year is a phrase adopted by
Alcoholics Anonymous; “Let go, and let God.” The most successful solution
to any problem we may face, no matter how large or small, is to trust in God.

As we act to resolve problems, we should never go at it alone, but to lay
the issue in the hands of the Lord; knowing that where our earthly
abilities may be limited, He alone is able to do all things! While man may
tell us a situation is hopeless, with God there is always hope!

And so, after doing everything possible to resolve my family's personal
crisis on my own, I remembered my faith in God, and began to cleave to the
Lord in a way that I had never before surrendered in trust. Daily I pray
about the matter, and then I hand the matter over to God, knowing that I
have done my part, and now it is time for Him to take over.

As hard a period as this has emotionally been, it has ironically also been
the richest in wisdom. No longer do I feel overwhelmed by the problem,
because I now know that all the worry in the world will not help resolve
the matter, and in fact, will only add to my own emotional distress.

Today, I encourage you to hand any problems you may be facing over to the
capable arms of the Lord. Feel the peace and freedom which follows the
leap of faith, and know that God is the Master of miraculous solutions.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Psalm 20:6-9 “Now know I that the LORD saveth His anointed; He will hear
him from His Holy Heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some
trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of
the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and
stand upright. Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.”

James 1:2-5 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers
temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that
giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Psalm 23:1-4 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to
lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His
name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort
me.”

Psalm 37:23-26 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He
delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:
for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand. I have been young, and now am
old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging
bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.”

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun
a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.

Dear Friend,

As we go through life, we should never have the attitude that we are
better than anyone else. We are to be grateful for the life that God has
given us and be quick to bless those who are less fortunate than we are.
We should never point fingers or question why others are facing hardships
in their life, but rather we are to be a beacon of light and hope letting
those who are down know that it's not too late for them to stand up again
and walk towards victory. We are to encourage those who are downtrodden
and lift up those who are weak. The Bible declares in 1 Thessalonians
5:14 “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the
feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.” (James 1:22-27)

The Lord who has graciously saved us from an eternity in hell and who
forgave us of our great sins commands that we extend the same mercy
towards our fellow man who is downtrodden, discouraged and in need. Be
encouraged to take the initiative to be helping when you see someone in
need. Do not look past them and hope that someone else will help them,
but rather you be their angel and let them see God’s love by your positive
actions in their life. (Luke 6:35-36) (Matthew 5:13-16) (James 2:8-10)

I hope this message ministers to your heart to never look past those who
are in need. We are to be light to a dark world and hope to those who have
none left.

SUNDAY STRANGER

The parking lot filled rapidly on Sunday morning as members of the large
church congregation filed into church. As usually happens in a church that
size, each member had developed a certain comfort zone -- a block of space
within those four church walls that became theirs after the second or third
sitting. It was as much a part of their church experience as the recliner was
to the television at home.

One morning a stranger stood at the edge of the parking lot near a dumpster. As
families parked cars and piled out, they noticed him rummaging through the
trash.

“Oh no! I don’t believe it,” whispered a lady to her husband. “That’s all we
need -- a bunch of homeless people milling around here.” One worried little
girl tugged on her dad’s sleeve. “But Daddy...” Daddy was busy sizing up the
bearded stranger, whose baggy, outdated trousers and faded flannel shirt had
dusted too many park benches.

“Don’t stare at him, honey,” he whispered, and hurried her inside. Soft music
filled the high-ceilinged sanctuary as churchgoers settled into their usual
spots. The choir sang an opening chorus, “In His presence there is comfort...in
His presence there is peace...”

Sunlight suddenly flooded the center aisle. The double doors swung open
and the homeless man, sloppy and stooped, headed toward the front.

“Oh no, it’s him!” somebody muttered. "What does he think he’s doing,
anyway?" snapped an incredulous usher.

The stranger set his bagful of dumpster treasures on the very first pew, which
had been upholstered in an expensive soft teal fabric just three months ago.

The music stopped. And before anyone had a chance to react, he ambled up
the stairs and stood behind the fine, hand-crafted oak podium, where he
faced a wide-eyed congregation.

The disheveled stranger spoke haltingly at first, in a low, clear voice.
Unbuttoning and removing his top layer of clothing, he described Jesus, and the
love He has for all people.

"Jesus possesses a sensitivity and love that far surpasses what any of us
deserves." Stepping out of the baggy old trousers, the stranger went on to
describe a forgiveness that is available to each and every one of us... without
strings attached.

Unconditionally He loves us. Unconditionally He gave his very life for us.
Unconditionally and forever, we can have the peace and assurance that no
matter who we are, where we’ve come from, or how badly we may have
mistreated others or ourselves, there is hope. In Jesus, there is always hope.

“You see, my friends, it is never too late to change,” the man continued.
“He is the Author of change, and the Provider of forgiveness. He came to
bring new meaning to ‘life’.”

Men and women squirmed as reality hit them like an electrical current. The
stranger tugged at his knotted gray beard, and removed it. “I’m here to tell
you that we are loved with a Love far beyond human understanding, a Love that
enables us to accept and love others in return.”

Then tenderly he added, “Let’s pray together.” That wise pastor -- under
the guise of a homeless “nobody” -- did not preach a sermon that day, but
every person left with plenty to think about.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Proverbs 14:21 “He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath
mercy on the poor, happy is he.”

Galatians 6:1-4 “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are
spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering
thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so
fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something,
when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own
work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”

Proverbs 6:16-19 “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an
abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed
innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift
in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth
discord among brethren.”

Psalm 138:6-8 “Though the LORD be high, yet hath He respect unto the lowly: but
the proud He knoweth afar off. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou
wilt revive me: Thou shalt stretch forth Thine Hand against the wrath of mine
enemies, and Thy right Hand shall save me. The LORD will perfect that which
concerneth me: Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of
Thine own Hands.”

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
