Hi,

I browsed several hours the mailing list archive,
and there are qite some interesting articles
on how to switch the implementation from the Jetspeed service(s)
to self-made ones.

Remark:
I read just the manuals,
but I am still confused about the hierarchy of the settings:
        - PortalAuthentication
        - PortalAccessController
        - UserManagement (probaly the only thing, i want to change )
        - RoleManagement
        - PermissionManagement
        - CredentialManagement
I am sure, if somebody understands this architecture completely,
the documentation looks o.k.
But i am confused, and thus the docs is no big help.

Still, several questions remain open.
i would be happy, if somebody would be able to anser them, thanks:

The JetspeedSecurity.properties file
----------------------------------------------------------
when i just change a setting in this file,
and restart tomcat, should the changes affect
my jetspeed installation,
or do i have to rebuild (ant) to
whole code again and deploy it,
just to make tests ?

3 filess in the source code:
-------------------------------------------
- JetspeedSecurity.properties
- JetspeedSecurity.default
- JetspeedSecurity.template

Where do i really have to change the appropirate settings.
( in the several tutorials there is just mentioned,
to make the "appropriate" changes in the corresponding files. )

WHAT changes do i have to make for THIS functionality:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------
At the first phase of my codings, i only want to
switch, to have the UserList from my own little classes.
I - at this point - do not need Roles, Permissions...
BUT, what do i actually have to change in the JetspeedSecurity.properties
files ?

Thanks if someone would - maybe again -
give some answers.

kind regards,
thomas
