Andreas, The portlet title and description are set in the <meta-info> element of the <portlet-entry>. See the JavaWeb portlet in portlets.xreg for an example. Use local-portlet.xreg for your portlets. Search the mailing list for the reason http://www.mail-archive.com
Also, change to the .xreg files may not be applied immediately, so be patient.
