I finally got Boyd's role-merging instructions to work for my case of locking in a couple of tabs as follows: _____________________________________________________ KSC | myKSC / | myProject / | Help ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The KSC and Help tabs above do not have the "edit" option (i.e., / ). This is exactly what I want, however, the following problems exist: 1) When user clicks on "Customize: HTML" a "Default Home Page" portlet is shown instead of the list of tabs. If you know how to navigate this (i.e., experienced used) there is no problem but a typical user will be confused as hell at this point unable to figure out how to add portlets to "his/her" myKSC or myProject pages -- since they are not shown here. 2) User can still delete the KSC and Help tabs completely and also delete any individual portlets under in the KSC and Help pages. The behavior here needs a lot of work.
