I loaded the GLIBC 2.1.3.
I installed the latest version IBM VM 1.1.8 with some fixes.
I downloaded the latest Tomcat version and compiled it fine.
I started everything up fine. I can access and run any other servlet without
trouble.
Its only when I run jetspeed do I get the VM crashing and only when it gets
to this line

[Thu Mar 31 14:40:34 CST 2000] -- NOTICE  -- PortletFactory.getPortlet():
url = http://www.slashdot.org/slashdot.rdf

After this it crashes.

Any other ideas ?
Could this be a memory issue since my Linux box only has 32Mb Ram ?

As an aside I had this same problem when evaluating portals for a client
company. I just couldn't get jetspeed to run on our SUN's. Finally we had to
settle on Epicentric ( approx $250,000) which by the way is also based on
servlets and ran fine when I installed it over jetspeed (after a bit of
tinkering around).

I have several other clients who are interested in portals, and I would like
to show them jetspeed, if only I could get it to work. :-(
