I don't really have any words of wisdom here, but know that you aren't
alone. I have a huge problem with getting rid of things too.
I've always loved going into houses where the owner uses the less is best
philosophy. My house is so cluttered with stuff that there's just no place
for all of it, but I just can't seem to get rid of it. There's way too much
sentimental value being placed on objects around here, but how does a person
let go?
Lots of luck to you!

Hi guys,
I am thrilled for all ur support! I get PETRIFIED about throwing things
out...it makes me feel like I "lost" something and don't even know what it
was or how valuable it was!
I actually had a friend who was capable of helping me but was too scared to
ask her for help...my boss even tried to help me by placing a big stack of
"clutter" paper in the trashcan and forbidding me to retrieve it. Retrieve
it, I did! When she was not looking. I know I have a problem here.
Leslie, I loved your description of seeing your own hand moving in slow
motion as you threw out an "expensive" but broken toy and confronted all
your thoughts! What courage!
Anyone else feel anxiety when placing things in the trash? What tips work
for reducing your anxieties?
I suspect a clutter-free environment helps!
