Hello Diane I don't know if this suggestion will work or even if it is feasible? Would it mean a lot of cost and effort to just replace the vent pipe?
My thinking is that to clean the inside of it is going to be difficult. I did give it a lot of thought and came up with a few ideas that all I am afraid would not work. I really thought I was onto something when I came up with ... tie a heavy weight to a long piece of string, drop it down into the pipe and let gravity pull it down then replace the heavy object with an old damp bath towel and pull like crazy from the other end ... needless to say I realised that even gravity won't pull a weight however heavy along a horizontal surface and sending a small animal would be too cruel and in any case if the pipe is blocked the heavy object won't get through !
