Perhaps we should make sure the builders make a home for the counter fairy before we sign the contract! We have putting off this remodel for so long because we just can't decide what to do -- that and the cost. We're putting up a two car detached garage this Spring, then eventually we'll turning the attached one-car garage into living space, which hopefully will make the kitchen bigger. Meanwhile, every surface in my house seems to be cluttered, so I guess it wouldn't make a difference whether I had a bar or not. Thanks for the info!
