LOL Pat - I've heard some reasons for not cleaning, but I have to admit yours is the best! No power and no water for 2 days?? I'd probably be hysterical, just from being unable to run the washing machine.
Whenever we have a hurricane threat (which could lead to a power outage) I rush to wash all clothes, vacuum the floor and bathe the dog - seriously~! Not that I'm nuts or anything - just can't stand the thought of being in a house with dirty carpet, clothes or dog and not being able to do anything about it... Okay, I'm nuts...
