Hi Diane,
Thanks for your warm welcome and good wishes. Louisiana?
Randy Newman sings a beautiful
song about Louisiana, but that would be
off-topic...
I sometimes wonder whether I'm in the right group. Some
folks are stressing about trying
to clear stubborn spots from the inside of
their ovens. I am so mired in trash that it
looks as if I'm living in a
dumpster! It doesn't help being a leisure journalist, because
folks send me
press folders, videos, files, releases; all off which keep accumulating
in
the most noxious fashion.
Because I don't share my huge apartment
with anyone, there's no one around to chastise me
and keep me in check.
Grown men, as you know, are just little boys with with drivers'
licences.
In the back of our minds, we seems to be saying to ourselves: "I don't need
to
sleep early any more because there's no one here to make me." And the
same applies to
being tidy, and other such grown-up disciplines. My
trash has multplied around me like
The Blob from outer space!
I also
have very little leisure time each day, as I work long hours, and spend
most
evenings at launches, premieres and such.
My clutter has truly
reached the stage where it could be clinically labelled
"dysfunctional",
hence my questioning whether I am indeed in the correct group. I could
take
some digital pics around my home and e-mail them to the group, but I suspect
that the
poor group members will flee their computers in
terror!
Nevertheless, here's a little motto that occured in my untidy
brain the other day: "Throw
away - every day." Since then, I've made a
point of scouting around and just tossing
"household garbarge" out whenever
I have a moment to spare. I've come across empty shampoo
bottles in the
bathroom, boxes and containers of things I've used that were just
hanging
around the place; that kind of stuff. It may be a drop in the
ocean, but a drop is better
than a drought!
Take it
easy,
Tat
